Under the clear, cloudless sky, a young girl sat at the edge of the lake contemplating the stars. Her arms wrapped around her legs, she rested her head upon her knees as fatigue became apparent in her gaze. She then relaxed, letting her upper body fall to the ground, arms spead out. With a sigh, she closed her eyes and fell asleep.

The trees nearby rustled when there was no breeze, and one, near the edge of the lake, began swaying slightly, and light, tinkling laughter could be heard.
The tree stopped dancing, and slowly the dryad Senerii revealed herself. She stepped out of the tree and slowly became solid. She was tall and slim, with pale skin and silvery blonde hair that came to her knees. It was always floating softly behind her, in a breeze that sometimes existed, but sometimes was simply magic. Her brown, almond-shaped eyes were soft and curious, and that was how she looked at the girl now.
Senerii gracefully approached the sleeping girl, and sensed that she was a naiad. She sat down next to the girl and patiently waited for her to awaken, listening to the songs of the trees and the water.

As Senerii sat down besides the sleeping form of the young girl, further down in the lake, another naiad was quietly materializing from the water.
She opened her eyes to the beautifully cloudless sky. The naiad Sakari looked for the moon, spotting it finally, shinning brightly, she gently smiled to herself. She turned her attention to the lake, calm as ever. Sensing another's presence around her, Sakari looked along the banks of the lake and spotted two forms of young girls. One, she sensed, was a dryad; the other was a fellow naiad.
Being the curious character as she is, she swiftly approached the two girls, hiding behind trees west from the lake. Her long, faded electric blue hair rippled behind her and a tint of questioning in her clear, blue eyes.

Delphine's eyes suddenly opened as she sensed a presence far too close for comfort. As she rubbed her eyes and completely emerged from her short sleep, she saw a girl sitting near by. She sensed no threat and realized she was a dryad.
Delphine watched curiously, pondering over the reason she was sitting there. "hello" she said with a friendly smile which disappeared as soon as she felt someone else near by. She sat up completely, looking around the area. A frown appeared across her face, not out of anger only perplexity. "hello??" she said once more, yet this time much louder in order for the visitor to come and join the two.

"Darn," Sakari thought to herself. "Well I guess they would've found out anyway."
So the naiad slowly revealed herself from the tree she was hiding behind, her hair now dropping wildly around her. "H-hi," she studdered, "nice night, ey?" Sakari seemly had a great interest in burrowing her foot into the soft ground. Every once in a while she stole a quick peak at the other two. "W-what b-brings you out here?" She continued to dig her foot into the ground, waiting for one of them to reply.

Senerii realized that she had startled the sleeping Naiad. "Hi, sorry if I disturbed you. My name's Senerii. What's yours?" She was smiling in a friendly manner, and then she noticed the other Naiad.
Senerii frowned a bit, but it evaporated quickly. She wasn't really sure why the girl was being so timid, but decided the best thing to do was to be polite and kind. "Hello there. What's your name?" She was smiling warmly, trying to be as friendly as possible. Senerii really hadn't met all that many Naiads, but there was no better time than the present to make some new friend.

"It's nice to meet you Senerii. I'm Delphine" she said to the two with a smile. She watched the timid girl curiously. "You don't have to be afraid. I was just out for a nap under the stars." she said in a friendly tone. She had met several niads in the area, yet did not know this young girl. "who are you?" she said in an equally friendly tone hoping she would relax a bit. With a sigh, she moved about, making herself a bit more comfortable.

Sensing no danger, Sakari relaxed a little bit and looked up more. "Uh... my name's Sakari" the naiad said quietly. "It is very nice to meet you, Senerii and Delphine. I've just came here from the Great River not too long ago."
Becoming more and more comfortable with these new friends, Sakari slowly walked the rest of the distance separating the two from her. She quickly sat down and stared at the moonlit lake, arms wrapped around her legs, rocking gently back and forth. She seemed to be in a trance, staring fixedly at the clear water.

Senerii followed her gaze out across the glassy lake and a small smile played across her face. "It's so beautiful...like the forest in the later days of spring, when everything is blooming..." Her eyes grew unfocused as she thought of all the winters she had endured, first as a sapling, then growing and growing--the Witch's winter had been the worst of them all.
However, every spring she was cheered, when the air adopted the scent of new life, flowers, pine needles, and saplings shooting from the ground. She loved the rain, too. Just the memories made her happier than she had been moments before.
